LegalData Deletion

Your data, your decision.

Request deletion of your account and data. We process all requests within 30 days, as required by GDPR and CCPA.

Your rights at a glance
  • • GDPR (EU) and CCPA (California) give you the right to request deletion of your personal data.
  • • We process all requests within 30 days.
  • • Some data may be retained where legally required (e.g. billing records for 7 years).
  • • Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Overview

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data held by OceanDrive. This page explains how to make that request, what gets deleted, what may be retained, and how to track your request. This applies to all users globally. EU/EEA users also have rights under GDPR Articles 17 and 19 (right to erasure and notification).

Delete your account

The fastest way to delete your account and all associated data is directly from within the app:

  1. Log in to OceanDrive.
  2. Go to Settings → Account.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and click "Delete account".
  4. Confirm by entering your email address and clicking "Permanently delete".

This immediately deactivates your account and queues all your data for deletion within 30 days.

If you cannot access your account, use the form below to submit a deletion request manually.

Deletion is permanent
Once deleted, your account, brand data, scheduled posts, analytics history, and Brand Brain content cannot be recovered. Export any data you need before proceeding.

Delete specific data

You can delete specific data without deleting your full account:

  • Brand Brain content: Settings → Brand Brain → Delete brand data.
  • Scheduled posts (drafts): Delete individually from the content calendar.
  • Connected social accounts: Settings → Connected accounts → Disconnect.
  • Customer/CRM data: Settings → CRM → Export or delete contacts.

For any data you cannot find a self-serve deletion option for, use the request form below or email us directly.

We will respond within 30 days as required by GDPR and CCPA.

Meta / Facebook data deletion

If you connected OceanDrive to Instagram or Facebook and want to remove all data we received via Meta's APIs, you can request deletion in two ways:

  • Via Facebook settings: Go to Facebook → Settings → Business Integrations, find OceanDrive, click "Remove", then select "Remove and delete all activity."
  • Via the form above: Submit a request with the email associated with your OceanDrive account. Specify "Meta data deletion" in the reason field.

When Meta sends us a deletion request via their data deletion callback, we process it within 24 hours and provide a status URL. The callback endpoint for Meta's use is:

https://getoceandrive.com/api/meta/data-deletion

This endpoint accepts Meta's signed request, verifies the signature, queues the deletion, and returns a status URL at https://getoceandrive.com/data-deletion?code=[CONFIRMATION_ID].

What gets deleted

When you request full account deletion, the following is permanently removed within 30 days:

  • Your account profile (name, email, password hash).
  • All brand data and Brand Brain content you created.
  • All scheduled and published post drafts stored in OceanDrive.
  • Analytics data tied to your account.
  • Customer/CRM data and contacts associated with your workspace.
  • API tokens for connected social accounts (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn).
  • Preferences, settings, and notification history.

We will also notify any sub-processors who hold your data on our behalf to process deletion within the same timeframe.

Retention exceptions

Some data may be retained after a deletion request where legally required. Specifically:

  • Billing and transaction records: Retained for 7 years as required by tax and accounting law (IRS Rev. Proc. 98-25, EU VAT Directive).
  • Fraud and abuse logs: Retained for up to 1 year if needed to investigate or prevent fraudulent activity.
  • Legal hold: If your account is subject to an active legal dispute, subpoena, or regulatory investigation, data may be retained until the matter is resolved.
  • Aggregated analytics: Anonymized, non-identifiable aggregate statistics may be retained (these cannot be linked back to you).

We will inform you of any retention exceptions that apply to your specific deletion request.

After submitting a deletion request, you will receive a confirmation ID. To check the status of your request:
